Mumbai: Aditya Chopra is set to expand the YRF Spy Universe with a new addition to the franchise. Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood's biggest crowd pullers, has been roped in to headline YRF's first female-led spy film.
This project is expected to start filming in 2024, marking the eighth instalment in the successful YRF Spy Universe.
Since its inception in 2012, the YRF Spy Universe has garnered immense popularity, with a string of blockbuster hits including Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, and Pathaan, the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
The introduction of Alia Bhatt to the franchise in a big-budget action film is considered a sign of Chopra’s commitment to expanding the universe with diverse and compelling characters.
According to insiders, Alia Bhatt will portray a super-agent, joining the league of Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Shah Rukh Khan in the YRF Spy Universe.

While Tiger 3 featuring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif is slated for release this Diwali, War 2 with Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr., and Kiara Advani is scheduled to commence filming in November 2023. The highly anticipated face-off between Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan in Tiger vs Pathaan is also on the horizon, with production scheduled to begin next year.
