Actor Nitesh Pandey co-star of Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om dies
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Bollywood actor Nitesh Pandey, who was known for the movie Om Shanti Om, was found dead at a hotel in Maharashtra. He was 50.
Pandey was shooting in Igatapuri, staying at a hotel here, when he died apparently of a heart attack, according to reports.
Police are investigating the details, while awaiting a postmortem report.
The movie Om Shanti Om earned him wide attention, having played the role of an assistant to the lead character of Shah Rukh Khan.
The actor’s death at an early age shocked his family with his brother-in-law Siddharth Nagar, saying that the actor’s sister is ‘in a state of shock’.
Siddharth Nagar added that Pandey was a lively person and had no history of any ‘heart ailment’.
Nitish Pandey emerged as theatre actor in the 90s before playing a detective on a TV show called Tejas.
Subsequently he became a familiar face on TV and films.
Nitesh Pandey was also known for his shows including Astitva... Ek Prem Kahani, Manzilein Apani Apani, Saaya,Durgesh Nandini and Justajoo, along with Anupamaa being the most recent of a clutch of them.
His major movie breaks include Badhaai Do, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, and Rangoon and is specially praised for his role in Khosla Ka Ghosla.
