The film will be the official Hindi adaption of the 2014 hit Hollywood film The Fault in Our Stars based on the novel. The Hollywood film directed by Josh Boone features Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.

The remake will be produced by Fox Star Studios. Actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been roped in to play the male protagonist while actor Sanjana Sanghi was finalized as the female lead.

The movie traces the life of a young girl Hazel, suffering from cancer who meets Gus, a cancer survivor at a support group and falls in love with him.

After the news of actor Sanjana Sanghi getting finalised to star in the Hindi adaptation went viral online, Green tweeted on Tuesday: “I can’t believe this is happening. Amazing!”

The shoot will begin by mid 2018 with casting director Mukesh Chhabra making his debut as a director. Oscar winner A R Rahman is also on onboard to compose music for the romantic drama.
