On Saturday, online investment company Groww announced that Microsoft CEO and Chairman Satya Nadella had joined as an investor and advisor.

Groww CEO Lalit Keshre said in a tweet: "We're thrilled to have @satyanadella as an investor and advisor." The group is working to make financial services more accessible to Indians, he added.

However, both Microsoft nor Nadella haven't commented on the recent development. Groww, however, did not disclose the amount and other details.

It was reported in October last year that Groww had raised $251 million from Iconiq Growth, at a valuation of $3 billion. Other investors who participated in the round were Alkeon, Lone Pine Capital, and Steadfast.

Growing Works' present investors include Sequoia Capital, Ribbit Capital, YC Continuity, Tiger Global, and Propel Venture.

Indiabulls Asset Management Company (IBAMC) and the trustee company were acquired by the digital platform for Rs 175 crore, including Rs 100 crore of cash.
