President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a directive to pardon Bangladeshi nationals involved in last month's protests and disturbances across several emirates. The decision includes the cancellation of their sentences and the arrangement for their deportation, as reported by WAM.
Following the President's directive, Chancellor Dr. Hamad Al Shamsi, the UAE Attorney-General, has ordered the halt of the sentence implementations and initiated the deportation procedures for the individuals involved.
The Attorney-General also reminded all UAE residents to adhere to the country's laws, emphasizing that the right to express opinions is protected under the state’s legal framework. He noted that the UAE provides lawful avenues for expressing views, ensuring that such rights are exercised without causing harm to the interests of the nation and its people.
