President Sheikh Mohamed arrived in Pakistan on Friday for an official visit, landing in Islamabad where he was welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with ministers and senior government officials.
According to state news agency Wam, the aircraft carrying the UAE President was escorted by Pakistani military jets as it entered the country’s airspace before touching down at Nur Khan military base.
An official reception followed, featuring the national anthems of the UAE and Pakistan, a 21-gun salute and a guard of honour. A military band and cultural groups took part in the ceremony, while children waved the flags of both nations.
