UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan hosted an iftar banquet at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi for his “brothers”, the Rulers of the other emirates, during the holy month of Ramadan.
Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers and Sheikhs also attended the gathering, along with Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto, who is on an official visit to the UAE. The leaders performed Maghrib prayer together before attending the banquet, which Sheikh Mohamed hosted in honour of the Rulers, Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers.
In a message shared with photos from the event, the President said, “Together we exchanged best wishes on the holy month of Ramadan, praying for God to grant peace and blessings to all".
During the iftar, Sheikh Mohamed held cordial discussions with the Rulers about the UAE’s continued development and ongoing efforts to strengthen the nation, build on its achievements and realise the aspirations of its people.
Attendees also watched a documentary featuring testimonies from individuals who were present on the day the Union was founded, when the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan raised the UAE flag for the first time. Those featured in the film spoke about what that moment meant to them and how it continues to shape their view of the country today.
