More than one million students across the UAE headed back to classrooms today, marking the official start of the 2025–26 academic year.

From Abu Dhabi to Fujairah, campuses were filled with renewed energy as children streamed into schools, while parents and teachers prepared for a new cycle of learning, challenges and achievements.

On Monday, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan shared a message to students, educators and families that highlighted the vital role of education in shaping the UAE’s future.

“I extend my congratulations to all students, teachers, administrators, and parents on the start of the new academic year”, Sheikh Mohamed wrote in a post on X.

“I wish everyone a successful year ahead and encourage families to work closely with schools in supporting our children to pursue their education with drive and excellence. Education remains the foundation of our nation’s continued advancement, and the UAE is committed to investing in our students as we work collectively towards shaping a better future for all".
