Hawaii: Australia, the United States and Japan decided to join hands and enhance military cooperation against China's growing ambitions, Agence France-Presse reported.

The defence ministers of the three nations met at the US military headquarters for the Pacific region and agreed upon the same.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that his nation was deeply concerned by China's increasingly aggressive and bullying behaviour at the Taiwan Strait and other regions.

Australian minister Richard Marles said that the three nations' interest lies in the upholding of the global rules-based order. They see that order is under strain in the Indo-Pacific as well. China seeks to shape the world around it in a way that they've not seen before, he said.

AFP reports that the US was processing a diplomatic attack to counter the Chinese influence in the Indo-Pacific.

Hinting at increasing diplomatic presence in the Pacific's Island nations, the US announced an $810 million aid package for them on Thursday. Last week, Kamala Harris visited Japan and South Korea. She promised that the US would act courageously and without hesitation throughout Asia, including the Taiwan Strait.

Chinese administration maintains that Taiwan is their territory and claims the Taiwan strait that separates the two.

US Vice President Kamala visited the demilitarized zone between the two Koreas during her visit to Seoul. Her visit aims to imply that Washington is committed to defending South Korea against North Korea.
