US again rejects Imran's claims of its role to topple his govt.

Washington/Islamabad: The United States has rejected outright the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's recent allegations that a conspiracy plotted in Washington, with the help of Pakistan's opposition, was playing to overthrow him, PTI reported.

Washington stated that there is "absolutely no truth" in Imran's claims.

Imran claimed that the conspiracy was because of his independent foreign policy. Funds were being channelled from overseas to kick him out of Pakistan's helm, he said.

He further alleged that Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs in the Department of State, has involvement in the conspiracy to topple his government.

For Washington, deputy state department spokesperson Jalina Porter told the media that there is no truth in Imran's allegations, though the US is following the recent developments in Pakistan. The US respects and supports Pakistan's constitutional process and the rule of law, she added.

This was the third time Washington rebuffed Imran Khan's allegations.

On March 27, Imran Khan had first claimed about a "letter" that contained a threat to the Pakistan government from the US. The US has denied them also knowledge about any threat letter. On April 3, a non-confidence motion against Imran was dismissed in the National Assembly, citing the "letter". However, the Supreme Court quashed the Assembly Speaker's order dismissing the non-confidence motion.

According to Pak media last week, Pak Army also contradicted Imran's statements accusing the US of plotting conspiracy. Army said that there is no evidence of interference in the country's internal matters.
