New York: The former Fox News host Tucker Carlson opened up critically about the lack of relevant TV debates in the US, days after he was fired.

In a Twitter video posted on Thursday Carlson said most of the debates on television are stupid, completely irrelevant, meaning nothing.

Tucker Carlson, who had brought millions of viewers to his show on Fox News, however, has not commented on his departure from the network.

Making sweeping comments about American TV debates, he further added that no one would remember debates happening in five years.

Carlson alleged that American media is not allowed to discuss topics like war, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power and natural resources.

‘War, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power, natural resources. When was the last time you heard a legitimate debate about any of those issues? It's been a long time,’ he said in the video message.

Carlson further alleged that political parties and their donors shut down any conversation (on topics he described above) after they reached a consensus on what benefits them.

Carlson has been silent about the reasons for leaving the network; however, reports say that Carlson, who brought millions to his show, was too difficult to handle even for owner Rupert Murdoch.

Reports claimed that Carlson was fired by Murdoch after he allegedly used vulgar language to describe a female executive.
