Trump leaves Biden a generous letter

Keeping up with the US tradition of outgoing presidents leaving letters for the new, Donald Trump left the US President Joe Biden a letter in the Oval Office's Resolute Desk. "The president wrote a very generous letter," Biden told reporters at the White House. "Because it was private, I will not talk about it until I talk to him, but it was generous."

Leaving letters for the new President is a tradition which started with Ronald Reagan's letter to former President George W Bush in 1989.

Trump, however, had broken several other traditions in the transition by refusing to concede defeat after poll results, not attending Biden's inauguration or even congratulating the new President on the victory.

As Biden refused to divulge the content of the letter, Twitterati is on a guessing parade and the results are hilarious.

Despite Trump's refusal to accept the poll results, Biden swore in as the 46th President of the United States on Wednesday. Outgoing Vice President Mike Pence has also reportedly left a letter for the new Vice President Kamala Harris.
