The cryptocurrency, worth about Rs 30 lakh (current value Rs 4.5 crore), belonged to a Delhi resident who had it fraudulently transferred to three different foreign accounts, one of them belonging to Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Palestinian organization Hamas.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (IFSO, Special Cell) K.P.S. Malhotra, "the complainant reported that some unknown persons had fraudulently transferred his Bitcoins, Etherum and Bitcoin cash from his cryptocurrency wallet."

There were 6.24 Bitcoin, 9.79 Etherum, and 2.44 Bitcoin Cash in the victim's blockchain mobile wallet (5.48 Etherum, 9.79 Bitcoin, and 2.44 Bitcoin Cash)

In the beginning, the case was registered at Paschim Vihar police station, at the local court's request. Later, the case was transferred to the Special Cell of Cyber Crime Unit, Delhi Police.

It turned out that the cryptocurrency trail led to wallets maintained by Al-Qassam Brigades, one of the military wings of Hamas, and to wallets that have already been seized by Israel agency.

Mohammad Naseer Ibrahim Abdulla owned the seized wallet, an official said.

Malhotra informed that the cryptocurrencies were routed through various private wallets and finally landed at the suspects' wallets, being used and operated in Gaza, Egypt, and the military wings of Palestinian organization Hamas.
