New Delhi: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, several global leaders sent warm greetings to the BJP leader, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Modi for his “enormous personal contribution” to strengthening the partnership between Moscow and New Delhi.

Italian PM Giorgia Meloni posted on X, “Happy 75th birthday to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His strength, his determination, and his ability to lead millions of people are a source of inspiration. With friendship and esteem, I wish him health and energy to continue leading India toward a bright future and to further strengthen the relations between our nations.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended heartfelt greetings, referring to Modi as his “good friend.” He lauded Modi’s achievements and highlighted the growing bond between India and Israel. “Prime Minister Modi, my good friend Narendra, I want to wish you a happy birthday. You've accomplished so much for India in your life, and we have together accomplished a great deal in the friendship between India and Israel,” Netanyahu said.

Looking ahead, Netanyahu expressed optimism about further strengthening bilateral relations. “I look forward to seeing you soon because we can bring our partnership and our friendship to even greater heights. Happy birthday, my friend,” he added, underscoring the close rapport between the two leaders and ongoing collaboration in technology, defence, and innovation.

Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also wished Modi a happy birthday, describing him as a good friend to both himself and Britain. Sunak highlighted the importance of strong friendships during uncertain times and noted that UK-India relations continue to flourish. Reflecting on shared cultural ties, Sunak mentioned the recent England-India Test series as a reminder of the deep connections between the two nations. He also spoke fondly of his 2023 visit to India for the G20 summit with his wife, Akshata, calling it a “superb event” that reflected India’s global stature.
