New Delhi: Pakistan has decided to keep its airspace closed to Indian carriers for another month, extending the restrictions until the morning of October 24. This marks the sixth such extension. India has not yet issued a response.

According to officials, the Pakistan Airports Authority issued a new NOTAM on Friday, while the current closure order, applying to both countries, is in place until September 24 at 5:29 a.m.

The restrictions were first imposed after the April 22 terror attacks in Pahalgam, Kashmir, that left 26 people dead. Since then, both India and Pakistan have been extending their reciprocal airspace bans month by month, TNIE reported.

An Aviation Ministry official in New Delhi said late Friday that no directive had been received on India’s next steps. However, India is expected to follow with its own NOTAM soon.

A NOTAM provides critical information for those involved in flight operations.
