Israel makes major ceasefire violation: Kills 9 Palestinians in Gaza
text_fieldsGaza City: Violating the active ceasefire in Gaza, Israel killed at least nine Palestinians who were trying to return to their homes, showing zero respect for its word that it is committed to the ceasefire deal, according to an Al Jazeera report.
Also, Palestinians, who were released from Israeli detention, said that they were beaten and humiliated. One of them described the Ofer Prison in Israel as a “slaughterhouse”, the report said.
Further, Israel has informed that it will allow only 300 aid trucks a day into Gaza. This is only half of the agreed number as per the peace deal. The Benjamin Netanyahu government also said that no fuel or gas will be allowed into the war-ridden enclave except for specific needs related to humanitarian infrastructure. COGAT, the arm of the Israeli military that oversees aid flows into Gaza, claimed that the halving of the number of aid trucks is because Hamas violated the agreement regarding the release of the bodies of the hostages.
Meanwhile, dozens in Italy are going to protest Israel’s continuing cruelty in Gaza, despite the peace deal. A crowd has gathered at the northeastern Italian city of Udine, where Italy is going to play in a World Cup qualifier, to protest Israel’s continued military action in Gaza, Al Jazeera reported.
Human rights activists have urged UEFA and FIFA to ban Israel over the genocide in Gaza despite the ceasefire.
According to Al Jazeera, Israel has killed at least 421 footballers in Gaza over the past two years and destroyed the sport’s infrastructure there.
On Saturday, the Israeli national team faced protests when it played Norway in Oslo.
It is to be noted that in 2022, both FIFA and UEFA suspended Russia within days of its offensive into Ukraine, launching a full-scale invasion.
Israel has killed at least 67,913 people and wounded 170,134 in Gaza since October 2023, when the war started with Hamas.
