Tehran : Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday confirmed that the authorities are looking in to the explosion in the country's ship in the Red Sea leaving the ship slightly damaged, as reported by IANS

The Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh spoke to the local media that no crew members were injured in the explosion on Tuesday night. But he did not make any comment on the allegations that the ship was attacked by Israel

However, The New York Times, citing an unnamed US representative, has reported that Israel had sent a confirmation to the US that its forces had attacked the ship in response to previous Iranian attacks on Israeli ships.

Earlier, in March, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had blamed Iran for an explosion on an Israeli company's cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman.
