"Genocide Joe has got to go": Pro-Palestinian protesters heckle Biden
text_fieldsManassas: Pro-Palestinians sloganeered "Genocide Joe has got to go" at US President Joe Biden while he was speaking at a poll rally in Virginia's Manassas. They interrupted Biden, who was accompanied by Vice President Kamala Harris, at least ten times during the rally during his first campaign event in 2024, Agence France-Presse.
When he got interrupted during his speech, he said that it is going to go on for a while since the protesters got it planned. However, Biden's supporters chanted back that, "Four more years."
The protesters waved the Palestinian flag and used banners reading "ceasefire". They were escorted out of Biden's rally later.
When Biden concentrates on abortion rights to find a grip in the upcoming polls, the pro-Palestinian protests and their heckling are a cause for a problem.
Tuesday's demonstrations were not the first against Biden for his administration's support of Israel over its offensive in Gaza, but it was the most sustained to date, AFP reports.
However, Biden went for a full-frontal attack on his likely rival Trump on the day on the reproductive freedoms of women and accused the latter of being "hellbent" on further abortion restrictions. The former slammed the latter for being proud of picking three conservative judges for the Supreme Court, which contributed to the overturning of the federal right to abortion in 2022. He said that it was Donald Trump who is most responsible for taking America's abortion freedoms away.
Biden alleged that the Republicans wanted a full ban on abortions across the United States.
Both the President and Vice President brought up the issue of abortion rights on Monday, which was the 51st anniversary of Roe v Wade, in which the Supreme Court made a landmark judgement legalizing abortion.
