New York: Fox News reported that Pierre Zakrzewski, a cameraman for the network, was killed outside Kyiv, Ukraine, on Tuesday.

In a statement, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said that Zakrzewski died and Benjamin Hall was wounded when their vehicle was hit by incoming fire in Horenka, outside the capital on Monday.

According to Scott, Hall, a Briton who works for the network as its State Department correspondent, is in the hospital in Ukraine.

"Pierre was a war zone photographer who covered nearly every international story for Fox News from Iraq to Afghanistan to Syria during his long tenure with us," Scott said. "His passion and talent as a journalist were unmatched."

Since February, Zakrzewski, based in London, had been working in Ukraine.

Irpin, a front-line suburb of Kiev rife with fierce fighting since Russia invaded Ukraine, was the scene of a shooting on Sunday that left a US journalist dead and another injured.

According to the media outlet, Brent Renaud, 50, was working for Time Studios on a video documentary about global refugee issues.

The wounded journalist has been identified as American photographer Juan Arredondo by the International Federation of Journalists.

According to a medic at the scene, a Ukrainian passenger was injured as well.
