American alliances keep America safe: President Joe Biden

Washington: U.S. President Joe Biden on Thursday said that American leadership holds the world together, adding that the country remains "a beacon to the world", Reuters reported.

During prime time address, Biden urged Americans to rally behind Israel and Ukraine and send tens of billions of tax dollars.

The United States must remain "a beacon to the world" and a threat to all enemies of democracy, he reportedly said.

Appealing to Americans to reject hate, he said American leadership holds the world together, adding ‘American alliances are what keep us, America, safe. American values are what make us a partner that other nations want to work with. You put all that risk if we walk away from Ukraine, turn our backs on Israel. Just not worth it.’

Biden further said that dictators and terrorists cause more chaos and death if they don’t pay price for their aggression, adding they are threat to American and the world.

Referring to Ukraine war, he said ‘So we don't stop Putin's appetite for power and control Ukraine. He won't limit himself just to Ukraine.’

Putin and Hamas want to ‘completely annihilate a neighboring democracy’, adding though they represent different threats, Biden said.

‘We must, without equivocation, denounce anti-Semitism. We must also without equivocation, denounce Islamophobia. To all of you hurting, those of you hurting, I want you to know: I see you. You belong. And I want to say this to you: You're all America. You're all America,’ he was quoted as saying.

Quoting his own speech in Israel the other day he said ‘When America experienced the hell of 9/11 we felt enraged as well’, adding he said America sought and got justice, also admitting ‘ We made mistakes’. He urged Israel to be cautious against getting blinded by rage.

‘We can't ignore the humanity of innocent Palestinians who only want to live in peace and have an opportunity,’ he was quoted as saying.
