text_fieldsThe United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia on Thursday welcomed the agreement on the first phase of a Gaza ceasefire framework linked to a proposal by US President Donald Trump. Both countries urged rapid steps to end the conflict and bring lasting peace to the region.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the efforts of President Trump and the mediation roles of Qatar, Egypt and Turkey. It said the deal should help ease humanitarian suffering in Gaza and support a path toward a just settlement for the Palestinian people.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also welcomed the start of implementing Trump’s proposal. It commended the mediation of Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye, expressing hope that the step would help alleviate the humanitarian crisis, ensure an Israeli withdrawal and restore stability.
The Kingdom stressed the need for practical action toward a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of an independent Palestinian state, in line with UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The UAE said it supports regional and international efforts to end the escalation and called for safe, unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza.
