New Delhi: Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has imposed a fine of Rs. 10 lakh on Air Vistara. This fine was given to the airlines by India's aviation regulator for safety regulations violation.

The airline had allowed a pilot who was not properly trained to land a flight at Indore airport in Madhya Pradesh, with passengers on board, according to NDTV.

An official said that the pilot who was the first officer on flight did not have the prerequisite training in a simulator to land flights. They said, "This was a serious violation endangering lives of the passengers on board".

The first officer has to be trained to land air crafts in simulators before they can do it on real airplanes with passengers. Similarly, the captain also has to be trained in simulators in order to give instructions for landing to the first officer.

The first officer landed the aircraft without adequate simulator training, neither was the captain trained using simulator. This is a serious violation that could endanger the lives of the passengers on the plane. This lapse was discovered during a landing in Indore.

It is not clear when this incident took place or where the aircraft took off from.
