New York: After his last post on Twitter 11 years ago, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made his mark on the social platform today dropping a meme.

His renewed interest in Twitter comes at a time when his company Meta’s answer to Twitter, named as Threads, was launched.

Meta CEO’s meme showed a man in Spiderman costume pointing at another in the same outfit.

The image harks back to the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon "Double Identity" where a villain attempts to impersonate the hero.

The meme came without any comment which itself is curious as though it could speak for itself.

The last time Zuckerberg posted anything on the microblogging site was on January 18, 2012. Back then he urged people to tell their Congress to be ‘ pro-internet’.

Threads is introduced as an "open and friendly public space for conversation", according to a report.

‘Our vision is to take the best parts of Instagram and create a new experience for text, ideas, and discussing what's on your mind. I think the world needs this kind of friendly community, and I'm grateful to all of you who are part of Threads from day one. Threads is available in the app store now,’ he was quoted as saying.

When asked if Threads will outshine Twitter, Zuckerberg said it would take time, adding that ‘I think there should be a public conversations app with 1 billion+ people on it. Twitter has had the opportunity to do this but hasn't nailed it. Hopefully we will.’

Many believe that Threads will have some advantage over Twitter what with its links to Instgram with a ready user base.

Many others argue that it is hard to replace Twitter as it is news-oriented place where Instagram is a visual platform.

In order to rival Twitter, Threads will require one-fourth of Instagram users to join it.
