As Instagram turns 10, it has decided to roll out many new features including the use of AI to block abusive comments on the social media platform. Instagram said that it'll detect the comments by using previously reported offensive comments and can be viewed by tapping on the 'View Hidden Comments' option. The feature is currently being offered to Beta users.

The Facebook-owned platform is looking forward to giving users a 'cleaner' experience by cutting down on social media trolls, bullies and imposter accounts.

Furthermore, Instagram has expanded it's 'nudge' feature that notifies a user when an abusive or offensive comment is posted, the feature will make the application send warnings when abusive or insulting comments are being posted repeatedly.

The new tools will be available globally, initially, in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese, and Arabic. Instagram said it'll expand these features to other languages in the future.

The social media platform has said that there's been "a meaningful decrease in negative interactions" in the comments section after the new 'nudge' feature was rolled out. Instagram has also rolled out a feature which allows users to change the application icon.

The Facebook-owned social networking website turned 10 on Tuesday with over a billion users.
