New York: Billionaire Elon Musk met his father Errol Musk first time in seven years putting aside all differences between them, The Sun reported.
The reunion took place at Boca Chica in Texas during the launch of SpaceX’s Starship last week.
Errol Musk attended the launch with his ex-wife Heide and granddaughter Cora.
The launch of Starship, the largest rocket ever built, was a special occasion for Musk’s SpaceX.
The relationship between the father and son remained strained for years.
Errol Musk was reportedly surprised to receive the invite from his son for the Starship launch.
The last time they met was in 2016 when Elon Musk and his brother Kimbal Musk celebrated their father’s 70 th birthday, according to the Sun.
Errol Musk’s ex-wife Heide reportedly said the family cried, adding that Errol was happy to see Elon and the son too was happy.
‘They immediately sat down at Elon's table next to one another and started talking as though no time had passed,’ she was quoted by The Sun as saying.
The launch of Starship comes after another attempt earlier exploded above the Gulf of Mexico eight minutes after lift-off.
During the launch in April, the rocket blew up after the booster rockets successfully separated from the ship.
Elon Musk hopes Starship will pave the way for humans colonizing Mars.
The Starship stands at 397 feet, comfortably 90 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty when its two stages are combined.
