ATK Mohun Bagan defeated FC Goa 2-1

At the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, here on Wednesday, ATK Mohun Bagan defeated FC Goa 2-1 in the Hero Indian Super League.

Mohun Bagan scored twice in the first half through Liston Colaco and Roy Krishna. Juan Ferrando, who took over from his former side FC Goa, scored a stunning goal in the first half for Mohun Bagan through Colaco (23rd). Krishna (56th minute) made it 2-0 in the second half before Jorge Ortiz (81st minute) scored but it wasn't enough. It was the highest goal for an Indian in this edition of the tournament.

After a good free-kick save from Amrinder at half-time, Liston gave Mohun Bagan the lead with his wonderful strike, so the half ended 1-0 for Mohun Bagan.

After falling behind by two goals, Goa did little to change the game until an Amrinder gaffe helped them get back into the game. Krishna doubled Mariners' lead soon after the restart, scoring first time with a Hugo Boumous lob.

Mohun Bagan held on for the three points as Ortiz's weak left-footed shot was inexplicably spilled by Amrinder. Goa surrendered by surrendering, but Mohun Bagan held on and bagged three points.
