Madan Lal urges BCC to act against Harmanpreet Kaur for her ‘pathetic behaviour’
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Veteran cricketer Madan Lal urged BCCI to take strict action against Harmanpreet Kaur for what he said her ‘pathetic behaviour’ with Bangladesh’s women team.
A member of the 1983 World Cup winning Indian team, Lal said ‘Harmanpreet’s behaviour against the Bangladesh women’s team was pathetic’.
The International Cricket Council fined Kaur for her unruly behaviour of hitting the stump with her bat over difference with umpires, according to a report.
Kaur confronted Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana asking her to call umpires for the post-match photograph alleging they influenced Bangladesh’s victory.
In protest against Kaur’s behaviour, Sultana left the ground with her players.
Reacting to Kaur, Madan Lal said ‘She is not bigger than the game. She got a very bad name for Indian cricket. BCCI should take very strict disciplinary action.’
Acting on the incident, alongside marking three demerit to her disciplinary account, the apex cricket body ‘deducted 75 percent of match fee’ said crictoday.com.
