Pune: A Twitter user shared his 83-year-old grandmother's prowess in the board game of caroms, another instance of a social media story that proved age is just a number, NDTV reported.

The user, Akshay Marathe, shared a video of his grandmother playing the game against a younger woman in a tournament. The grandmother could be seen producing spectacular shots in the video.

The user also shared that the elderly won a gold medal in the doubles category and a bronze in the singles category of the game in the tournament. The All-Magarpatta City carrom tournament featured the elderly woman's performance.

The man's tweet read, "Inspired by my 83-year-old Aaji who won Gold in the Doubles and Bronze in the singles in Pune's All-Magarpatta City carrom tournament against much younger and steadier hands."

He also shared pictures of himself and his friends playing with his grandmother. He wrote, "We can take some credit for practising with her although @abhijeet_dipke and I got destroyed by Aaji, despite being paired with @PulkitS."

Both the tweets and shared visuals made a stir on the Internet, with many getting inspired or sending congratulatory messages. These messages went like, "Love to Aaji, she is an inspiration", "Mind-blowing. Fantastic. Superb"," Very good & inspiring, big congratulations", etc.
