Toddler sexually assaulted by school staffer in Delhi

New Delhi: An employee of a play school here was Thursday arrested for sexually assaulting a two-and-a-half-year-old girl after the toddler identified him, police said.

The parents informed police after the toddler complained of pain in her abdomen. Her parents rushed her to a hospital where doctors said that she had been sexually assaulted.

Amit, who works as a peon, was arrested from the school located in west Delhi's Rohini, after the toddler recognised him. He confessed that he sexually assaulted her Tuesday inside the school premises.

The victim's parents and relatives had Wednesday staged protests outside the school demanding action. Police reached the spot and placated them.

"Parents of at least ten children also alleged Amit assaulted their kids," said a police officer.
