Abu Dhabi: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Burj Khalifa in Dubai was illuminated in the colours of the Indian flag. After ending a two-day trip to France, PM Modi arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, can be seen lit up with the Indian tricolour in a video that a news agency posted on Twitter. "Welcome honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi," was written alongside PM Modi's photo on the building.

Upon his arrival in the UAE, PM Modi expressed his eagerness to speak with HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, NDTV reported.

“Landed in Abu Dhabi. I look forward to the deliberations with HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which will further deepen India-UAE cooperation,” PM Modi tweeted.

In a separate tweet, PM Modi shared a picture of himself sitting with the UAE president. “Grateful to Crown Prince HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for welcoming me at the airport today,” he tweeted on Saturday.

In his departure statement, PM Modi said that India and the UAE “are engaged across a wide range of sectors such as trade, investments, energy, food security, science and technology, education, fintech, defence, security, and robust people-to-people ties”.

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the UAE, discussions of defence, energy, and food security are expected. Following the signing of a historic trade agreement, the two nations will assess the state of their bilateral relations.

The Grand Cross of the Legion of accolade, France's highest civilian and military accolade, was awarded to PM Modi during his earlier July 13–14 visit to France, when he held extensive discussions with President Emmanuel Macron.
