UAE ranks 21st globally, first in Arab world in 2026 Happiness Report

The United Arab Emirates placed first in the Arab world and 21st globally in the World Happiness Report 2026, according to figures released by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network using Gallup World Poll data.

The annual index assessed 147 countries, measuring well-being through indicators such as income per capita, life expectancy, social support, personal freedom, generosity and perceptions of corruption in public and private sectors. The UAE recorded a score of 6.8.

In detailed rankings, the country placed fourth worldwide for freedom to make life choices. It ranked eighth in GDP per capita at $70,000 and 19th in generosity, reflecting levels of charitable giving. The UAE also stood 30th globally in life expectancy.

The report places the UAE among higher-ranked economies in overall life satisfaction.
