UAE President Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Abu Dhabi on Monday during the Ukrainian leader’s official visit to the Emirates. The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati, focused on strengthening bilateral ties across key sectors, including economy, investment, renewable energy and food security.

Sheikh Mohamed expressed hope that the visit would further enhance cooperation between the two nations. He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to building effective international partnerships that drive mutual progress. Discussions also covered global stability, with Sheikh Mohamed emphasizing the UAE’s consistent stance on supporting peaceful resolutions to conflicts, noting that sustainable development depends on a stable environment.

The UAE President reiterated the country’s support for diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the Ukraine conflict. He also acknowledged Ukraine’s cooperation in facilitating UAE-mediated prisoner exchanges between Ukraine and Russia, describing it as a reflection of trust in the Emirates’ humanitarian role.

Zelensky, in turn, highlighted the opportunities for expanded cooperation between Ukraine and the UAE. He expressed appreciation for the UAE’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts, particularly in prisoner exchanges and other relief initiatives.

After their discussions, Sheikh Mohamed hosted a luncheon at Qasr Al Shati to honor President Zelensky and his delegation.
