The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched a new national programme for behavioural rewards

The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched a new national programme for behavioural rewards, state-run WAM reported. Initiated by the Department of Behavioural Rewards of the Ministry of Possibilities, the National Behavioural Reward Programme, Fazaa, is a pioneering point-based system secured through payments for government services that aims at fostering positive behaviour.

The programme focuses on three main pillars such as homeland, society and family while encouraging to take up positive behaviours, osupport families, promote community interaction, as well as bolster the economy and the state's comprehensive development.

Over 90 behaviours were selected for the strategy and a smart app was also launched. The app is an additional technical tool that makes the most of the benefits of Fazaa by easing accessibility for the targeted segments of the community, WAM says.

"Encouraging positive behaviour contributes to improving the quality of life and achieving the happiness of society. Our inherent values have always been a hallmark of the Emirati personality," said Sheikh Mohammed.

The first batch of the Professional Diploma in Behavioral Economics, one of the programme's initiatives, graduated during the event. The course seeks to develop the qualified participants' skills in analysing and motivating positive behaviour so as to raise the level of UAE society and government readiness. The batch will be the first to commence initiatives and projects that reinforce the concept of positive behavioural change across all fields.
