Dubai: The Expo 2020 Dubai Museum will open to the public with free entry on May 18 to mark International Museum Day. The museum will offer insights into the journey of Expo 2020 Dubai.

On May 18 and 19, visitors can enjoy complimentary entry to the new museum and the city's three Stories of Nations exhibitions, along with a 50% discount on other attractions, including Alif, Terra, the Women's and Vision Pavilions and Garden in the Sky.

The museum will feature mixed media exhibits and interactive content for young visitors. It will highlight the UAE's first participation in World Expos in the 1970s, the inception and bid for Expo 2020, the masterplan design, site construction, challenges during the pandemic and postponement, the opening ceremony and the six-month event. The museum will also honour the World Expo's impacts and ongoing legacy.

Guided tours will occur every 30 minutes. The museum, located in the Opportunity District, includes a shop with Expo 2020 memorabilia, the Expo 2020 library and rentable meeting spaces. Visitors can also collect more country stamps in Expo ‘passports’.

From May 20 onwards, the museum will be included in Expo City’s one-day Attractions Pass, costing AED 120. Alternatively, visitors can purchase a combined ticket to the Expo 2020 Museum and the three Stories of Nations exhibits for Dh50 for ages 12 and above, Dh40 for children aged 4 to 11 and free for children aged 3 and under.

Tickets can be purchased at www.expocitydubai.com.
