Dubai Police respond to over 39,000 emergency queries during unstable weather
text_fieldsDubai Police recorded a sharp increase in public contact during recent weather changes, receiving a total of 39,299 enquiries over Thursday and Friday.
Emergency lines accounted for most of the traffic, with 32,391 calls made to 999. A further 6,908 calls were received through 901, the force’s non-emergency number used for service-related and general enquiries.
Beyond phone calls, Dubai Police handled 427 emails and responded to 1,690 live chat requests through its official website, providing updates, instructions and assistance as conditions changed.
Police said teams at the Command-and-Control Centre and the 901 Contact Centre operated continuously during the period to ensure responses were delivered quickly and accurately.
Dubai Police stressed that 999 should be used only in emergency situations, while 901 remains the appropriate channel for non-urgent matters and public services.
