Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) has launched a series of humanitarian and social initiatives ahead of Eid Al Adha as part of the “Year of Family” programme.

The initiatives aim to support families, strengthen social stability and promote community wellbeing across the emirate through partnerships with government, private and charitable organisations.

As part of the program, the CDA introduced the “Eidiya” initiative, benefiting more than 11,700 registered recipients.

The program supports families receiving financial assistance from the CDA, along with priority groups including minors and fishermen.

Officials said the initiative reflects Emirati values associated with Eid while strengthening social support systems for vulnerable groups.

The total value of the program reached Dh27.7 million and was implemented in partnership with organisations including the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Union Coop, Dubai Land Department, Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society and Tarahum Charity Foundation.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the CDA, said the initiatives reflect values of compassion and solidarity within UAE society.

As part of the support program, fishermen received prepaid cards from Union Coop to help cover essential needs during Eid.

The CDA also organised a co-design session with fishermen to discuss wellbeing challenges and improve future support programs.

In addition, Beit Al Khair Society contributed Dh5 million to the Community Development Fund through the “Jood” platform.

The CDA also worked with the UAE Food Bank under Dubai Municipality to distribute 250 fruit baskets during Eid outreach activities.

The initiative benefited 65 participants from the “Waleef” program and 185 senior citizens at the Al Barsha majlis, with baskets delivered directly to beneficiaries’ homes.
