Dubai introduces variable parking fees at event zones

Dubai's public parking operator, Parkin, has introduced a new variable parking fee system, with a rate of Dh25 per hour near major event areas. The revised tariff, effective February 17, applies to parking zones around Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), designated as the ‘Grand Event Zone.’

According to Parkin, the new charges will be enforced in zones 335X, 336X and 337X during events. The operator advised residents and visitors to opt for public transport when heading to event areas to avoid high parking costs.

This comes after Parkin recently increased parking fees across Zone F, which covers Al Sufouh 2, The Knowledge Village, Dubai Media City, and Dubai Internet City. The adjustments, which took effect on February 1, reflect the operator’s latest pricing strategy to manage high-demand parking spaces.

The latest parking fee updates are expected to impact both residents and commuters, especially those attending large-scale events at DWTC. Public transport options, including the Dubai Metro and buses, remain recommended alternatives to mitigate the high parking expenses in event zones.
