Abu Dhabi: Man, sentenced to death for homicide, gets rebirth after the intervention of Dubai-based Indian businessman MA Yusuf Ali. Bex Krishnan, a 45-year-old native of Kerala's Puthenchira in Thrissur district, was facing death row after accidentally hitting a Sudani boy to death while driving a car at Musaffah, Abu Dhabi.

The sentence was withdrawn after Yusuf Ali, the chairmen of Lulu Group met the boy's family constantly for discussions and paid a compensation of 5 Lakh dirhams (1 crore rupees).

The unfortunate accident happened on September 7th 2012, which ended Krishnan to months-long trials after the boy's parents' petition made the police charge homicide against him. CCTV footages and witness testimonies inferred that Krishnan's car rammed into a group of playing children, and UAE Supreme Court sentenced him to death in 2013.

It was after his family's efforts to release him went in vain and his hopes dampened, Yusuf Ali's help arrived through one of Krishnan's relative. Yusuf Ali brought the boy's parents to Abu Dhabi, had discussions with them and finally made them understand the situation. After the judicial formalities, Krishnan will leave for his home.

In Al Wathba jail, crying in relief, an overwhelmed Krishnan told Indian embassy officials that he never had the belief that he could go back home and see his family again. He said that he hopes he could meet his saviour, Yusuf Ali, in person.

Meanwhile, Yusif Ali thanked the almighty God for saving a man's life and wished Krishnan and his family a pleasant future. Furthermore, he praised the greatness of the UAE and its rulers.

According a statement from Lulu Group, Krishnan will return to his homeland once the procedure completed. Earlier, Embassy officials of Abubdhabi had visited Krishnan to complete visa procedures and to provide journey out pass as soon as possible.
