The Taif Municipality has launched the “Neighborhood Friends” initiative, aimed at fostering community participation through volunteer-driven tree planting and neighborhood development across the Taif governorate, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The initiative encourages local volunteers to plant trees around housing units while also working to identify the needs and concerns of residents. It emphasizes active collaboration with developmental housing beneficiaries to resolve issues, promote environmental sustainability and enhance civic responsibility.

Engineers and technical experts are also contributing to the effort, ensuring professional support in both planning and execution.

Mayor Abdullah bin Khamis Al-Zaidi stated that the municipality is committed to supporting citizens in addressing local development needs. He described the initiative as a key intersection between urban development and community involvement, reflecting a collective vision for sustainable neighborhood growth.

The program also seeks to stimulate professional volunteering and individual contributions, aligning with broader goals of social responsibility and long-term urban resilience.
