Tabuk, one of the sites of the archeological village of Disa, is Saudi Arabia's undiscovered gems that leave travellers and history buffs enthusiastic.

Tabuk is home to valleys, oases, streams, sandstone columns, and palm trees. Rare historic landmarks of Tabuk are making it a popular tourist destination. Private tour operators say that the area has witnessed a dramatic increase in domestic tourism in the past few years because of its diverse nature and mild climate, reported Arab News.

Tabuk is the perfect summer getaway spot because it allows you to explore the nooks and corners of the valleys. You can also enjoy stargazing and marvel at the fact that it was home to ancient civilisations.

The archaeological village of Disa is believed to be the ancient city of Madyan, which is mentioned in the Quran as the place where Prophet Moses fled after leaving Egypt.

Disa is known for Nabataean tombs carved into rock formations as they date back to the end of the 2nd millennium BC. Mountains of Disa also have houses and temples carved into them. The area has become popular among photographers due to the intricate design work around the entrances.
