Riyadh: Saudi Arabia's Health department has treated 43,425 patients among Hajj pilgrims so far, while the season is to start on Wednesday, Arab News reported citing Saudi Press Agency.

The Saudi administration has released figures from May 31 to July 3, which state that the health department performed three open-heart surgeries, 66 cardiac catheterizations, 182 dialysis sessions, two endoscopic procedures, and 95 surgeries.

When more than 290 people were admitted to hospitals, one woman gave birth. The health ministry's virtual hospital spotted four cases of stokes while more than 740 pilgrims took consultations with healthcare workers using the Sehhaty health app.

Saudi administration has set up 23 hospitals and 147 clinics which could bed together 4,654 patients, including 1,080 ICU beds, in Makkah, Madinah and other locations related to the Hajj pilgrimage. Further, 230 beds were earmarked for those suffering from heat fatigue as the pilgrimage is happening during one of the hottest months in the Kingdom.

The Kingdom's authorities have fielded 25,000 health practitioners to serve the pilgrims during the pilgrimage.
