Saudi Ministry of Interior headquarters.

Riyadh: The Saudi Arabia Ministry of Interior informed that the government had given the death sentences for individuals convicted of terrorism as well as other crimes that are rewarded with the same punishment, Arab News reported.

In total, 81 people were convicted of various crimes such as murdering innocent people, pledging allegiance to foreign terrorist organisations including Daesh, Al-Qaeda and the Houthis and travelling to conflict zones in order to join them. Crimes also include attacking residents in the nation.

Further crimes included kidnapping, torture, rape, smuggling arms and bombs into the Kingdom, attacking government personnel as well as important economic sites, murdering law enforcement officials and planting land mines to target police vehicles. There are cases in which police officials were killed and bodies mutilated.

The convicts were tried in the Kingdom's courts under 13 judges. Each individual was tried through three different stages.

They were allowed to exercise their right to have an attorney and were given all the rights guaranteed by Saudi law all along the judicial process. The Saudi court found them guilty of multiple brutal crimes, killing many civilians and police alike.
