Saudi Interior Minister holds talks with Pakistani counterpart in Riyadh
text_fieldsSaudi Arabia’s Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, held a significant meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohsin Naqvi, at the Ministry of Interior headquarters on Monday. The discussions centered on strengthening security collaboration between the two nations, with a particular emphasis on combating drug trafficking and addressing shared strategic interests, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Naqvi extended warm congratulations to Saudi Arabia on its successful bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, expressing confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to deliver a world-class event. His gesture of goodwill reflected the deepening ties between the two countries.
The meeting followed the signing of key memorandums of understanding in October, valued at $2.8 billion. These agreements, viewed as critical for Pakistan, aim to inject much-needed foreign investment into its struggling economy. The cooperation underscores the importance of Saudi-Pakistani ties in addressing economic and security challenges.
Senior officials from both sides attended the meeting, including Saudi Deputy Minister of Interior Nasser Al-Daoud, Undersecretary of Interior Khalid Al-Battal, and Director General of Drug Control Mohammed Al-Qarni. Representing Pakistan, Ahmed Farouk, the country’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, was also present.
The strategic dialogue highlights the ongoing commitment of both nations to forge stronger partnerships in security and economic domains, reflecting their shared vision for regional stability and prosperity.
