Nearly half of Saudi internet users now use AI tools, CST report says

Almost half of internet users in Saudi Arabia are now using artificial intelligence tools, according to the latest Internet 2025 report by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission.
The fifth edition of the report found that 45.2 per cent of users in the Kingdom have adopted AI tools, showing how quickly emerging technologies are becoming part of daily digital life.
The report also showed heavy mobile internet consumption, with users in Saudi Arabia averaging 53GB of mobile data per person each month. CST said this is three times the global average.
Saudi Arabia also ranked among the top five G20 countries for mobile internet performance, with median download speeds reaching 216 Mbps.
The report found that 61.3 per cent of users spend seven hours or more online each day, pointing to the central role digital services now play in work, communication, entertainment and government transactions.
CST also examined the most-used and most-downloaded applications in several categories, including social media, government services, sports and artificial intelligence.
The report recorded 18 per cent annual growth in Saudi “.sa” domain names, which it linked to rising trust in local internet browsing and digital services.
It also covered browsing habits, the most widely used search engines, fastest-growing applications and continued growth in Saudi domain registrations.
CST said the report tracks the development of the Kingdom’s internet ecosystem and supports efforts to improve digital services, innovation and economic growth.
