A school combining India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with the Saudi national curriculum is set to open in Madinah for the 2026–2027 academic year, according to Indian media reports.

The school, now in its pre-opening phase, is located in the Hayy Al Nasr neighborhood, about 10 minutes from the Prophet’s Mosque. Sources said preparatory work is close to completion, though an official opening date has not been announced.

The project is intended to serve expatriate families in Madinah, with a focus on Indian residents seeking CBSE-based education alongside the Saudi curriculum within a single institution.

Along with academic programs, the school plans to offer Quran memorisation (Hifz) and Islamic studies.

The institution will operate under the name Alnaiah Waltafaouq for Education Co. Details related to ownership, regulatory approvals, staffing and recruitment have not been made public.

The move follows years of demand from expatriate parents in Madinah for CBSE-affiliated schooling options in the city.
