Indian Ambassador inaugurates blood donation drive in Riyadh
text_fieldsIndian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr Suhel Ajaz Khan inaugurated a blood donation camp at Shola Mall Atrium in Riyadh, organised by the All India Steering Committee.
The camp ran from 9 am to 5 pm and recorded participation from more than 500 donors contributing to local blood banks.
Medical oversight was provided by Dr Khalid Ibrahim Sawabi, Regional Head of the Blood Bank at the Saudi Ministry of Health.
Organisers arranged activities for participants, including hourly prize drawings with around 25 winners and certificates of appreciation presented to all donors.
The event also featured a live music performance led by Raheem Uppala.
The inauguration was attended by Indian Embassy officials, including Consular Counselor Gaurav Kumar Tiwari and Political and Press Counselor Shariq Badr, along with Al Wafa Director Abdul Nasser, Regional Manager Mohammed Riyaz and Mall Manager Abdul Muhaimin.
Organisers said the event was led by All India Steering Committee Convener Saigham Khan, supported by core members Shihab Kottukad, Salim Mahe, Devendra Bangale, Ghulam Khan and Ahmed Imtiaz.
A team of volunteers and coordinators, including K M Kanakalal, Niyaz Ahmed, Muzammil, Abdul Ahad Siddiqui, Antony, Abhishek, Dr Ashraf, Dr Idris, Jamal Seth, Debashish, Abdul Jabbar, Dr Anwar Khurshid, Sultan Mazharuddin, Waseem Haider, Salim Muhyuddin, Mohammed Mubeen, Ibrahim Subuhan, Gufran and Mohammed Abrar, managed operations at the site.
