Riyadh: The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that pilgrims outside the Kingdom could apply for a visa to perform Umrah from Thursday onwards, Arab News reported.

Saudi Press Agency reported that the Umrah season for pilgrims both inside and outside Saudi would start on July 30.

The visa requirements for international pilgrims will be available on the website https://haj.gov.sa/ar/InternalPages/Umrah. Domestic pilgrims can issue Umrah permits through the "Eatmarna" application, the SPA report added.

The Umrah ministry said visa applicants must be fully vaccinated with vaccines approved by the Saudi administration. A vaccine certificate authenticated by the respective countries of the pilgrims also must be in their possession.

Further, the ministry said there would be measures in place to ensure the safety of pilgrims throughout the Umrah season.

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia ended a successful Hajj season with zero records of accidents or disease outbreaks.
