Qatar has condemned the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers, describing the incident as a violation of international law and a provocation against Muslims worldwide.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticised what it called provocative actions carried out under the protection of Israeli occupation forces and warned against attempts to alter the status of occupied Jerusalem and its religious sites.

The ministry said Al Aqsa Mosque is an exclusively Muslim place of worship and stressed that any unilateral measures aimed at changing the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem are null and void under international law.

Qatar warned that continued violations and repeated provocations could lead to further violence and escalation, undermining efforts aimed at restoring stability in the region.

The ministry called on the international community to take urgent action and compel Israel, as the occupying power, to halt violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites and comply with international resolutions.

It also reaffirmed Qatar’s support for the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
