MUSCAT – The Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed on Thursday that the recent shooting incident in Wadi Kabir involved three Omani brothers, who died while resisting the security forces. The incident, which shocked the local community, resulted in injuries among several policemen and personnel from the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA).

“The Royal Oman Police is committed to keep the public informed about the developments in the shooting incident in Wadi Al Kabir. It has been confirmed that the three perpetrators involved in the incident were Omani brothers who died due to their resistance against the security forces. Investigations have revealed that they were influenced by misguided ideologies,” said an ROP statement.

The ROP detailed the coordinated response to the incident, emphasizing the joint efforts of police, military, and security services.

"The Royal Oman Police and the military and security services have completed the procedures for dealing with the shooting incident that occurred in the Wadi Al Kabir area in the Muscat Governorate. Investigations into the incident are ongoing."

The injured, including several policemen and CDAA personnel, are admitted in various hospitals for medical treatment. The authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further details surrounding the incident.

The Royal Oman Police expressed gratitude to the public for their vigilance and dedication to the safety and security of their homeland.
