Saudi, Omani foreign ministers discuss Hormuz navigation in Muscat

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi in Muscat on Wednesday for talks focused on regional security, bilateral cooperation and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

The ministers reviewed relations between Saudi Arabia and Oman and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in areas that support Gulf integration and serve the interests of both countries.

During official talks after the meeting, the two sides discussed expanding cooperation across several sectors and deepening the strategic partnership between the Kingdom and the Sultanate.

Regional and international developments were also reviewed, with particular attention given to the Strait of Hormuz.

The ministers stressed the importance of securing international waterways, protecting freedom of navigation and resolving disputes through dialogue and peaceful means.

They also discussed joint strategic projects, including the land border crossing between Saudi Arabia and Oman, as well as cooperation in transport networks and logistics connectivity.

The talks further covered ways to expand economic, trade and investment ties, support public-private partnerships and make use of opportunities in sectors of shared interest.
